**Caring for the Drum**
The dryer drum is the compartment where your clothes are placed. While it doesn’t demand extensive maintenance, regular wiping is necessary to prevent the accumulation of debris or gunk. This is particularly important for households with pets or children who may have gritty play clothes.
If you notice pet dander or grit in the dryer, use a damp cloth to wipe down the drum. In the event a stray lipstick or gum ends up inside the drum, there’s no need to worry. Start by allowing the dryer to warm up for a few minutes (perhaps with some towels or rags inside), then use a rag or a sturdy spatula to scrape off any residue. For any remaining residue, employ a damp cloth, a small amount of laundry detergent, and hot water to ensure a clean and functioning dryer drum.
